For the Safety Innovation Challenge: Energy Control, up to ten (10) participants will showcase at the NSC Safety Congress & Expo from September 13-16, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
At the Conference, participants will demonstrate their proposed technology and engage with safety officers and professionals from a broad swath of industries in the Safety Technology Pavilion.
Conference attendees will determine the three finalists through an on-site voting process. Those three finalists will pitch their technologies live on stage in front of conference attendees. Following the live in-person presentations, National Safety Council will announce the Challenge winner.
The Challenge winner will receive a complementary one-year basic subscription to the NSC TechHub Marketplace. The TechHub Marketplace is the NSC repository of safety related technologies, allowing companies to search for innovative new solutions for their organizations.
All participants have exclusive eligibility to apply for grants from NSC’s Work to Zero program that will fund pilot-scale implementations with third-party companies. Grants of up to $20,000 will demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technology in a commercial setting.
Participants will each receive a $4,500 reimbursement to offset costs associated with attending the Congress.
The National Safety Council may also collaborate with participants through the creation of technical papers, virtual and in-person appearances, and other safety-focused events and media.
